Locals and Visitors Alike Head to White Rock Beach for Great Food, Fresh Air and Seaside Fun

If you enjoy the experience of tasting fine cuisines from around the world while reveling in the allure of a quaint seaside town; come to the breath-taking Oceanside community of White Rock.  Depending on which way you travel, any direction is less than an hour’s drive from Vancouver Canada.  White Rock is known for having one of the sunniest locales within the lower Mainland of Vancouver, as it receives nearly a quarter more sunshine than neighboring cities.

Just a little South of Vancouver and only a few minutes north of the US/Canadian Border, the charming community of White Rock is distinguished for its adorable B&B’s, galleries, boutiques and trendy waterfront dining with spectacular sunsets.  Picture sitting along one of the quaint cafes; overlooking one of the Province’s scenic mountains with the crashing waves of the Pacific in its tranquil place. Go dancing at a fun nightclub or find a shopping excursion at one of many unique shops along the beach.

While walking along the promenade, you may even catch a tune by one of the local musicians who hope to wrestle you out of a few cents.  Go ahead – its well worth the charm of this artsy town in the eclectic atmosphere of Marine Drive.  Wander through the cute stores and enjoy the varied restaurants along the main strip of White Rock.

If you’re into the outdoors adventure, plan a day trip with the family to go whale watching, kayaking, swimming, or even white water rafting.  There are gold-rush historic sites for the history buffs; while the winter snow adventurists can find plenty of fluffy snow to ride down a mountain on a snowboard or a pair of skis. Wine Vineyards, Dude Ranches, Train Rides or Boat Trips along the Inside Passage are enough to entertain your mind, body and spirit for days – even weeks.  If that’s not enough to juice up your appetite for fun and leisure, take a stroll along the magnificent promenade where you can catch views of the expansive coastline.

History buffs will enjoy a gold-rush historic site or a visit to the White Rock Museum – celebrating its 50th year.  Preserving local history and culture is the main goal of this museum; which appropriately resides in the historic White Rock Train Station from 1912.  Nestled along the miles of Marine Drive, the White Rock Museum is a must-see for visitors who enjoy the changing exhibits and souvenirs in its gift shop.

To find peace and quiet within this beachy tourist town, take a lovely walk down the pebbly pathways leading to Crescent Beach, about a 15 minute drive.  You can take a dip in the temperate waters of this protected swimming area; or play beach volleyball with the kids on a summer day.  This particular strip is the place to be!

Blackies Spit is one of the most known bird watching spots in Canada, with records of at least 200 different species of feathered friends.  Whether you’re looking to wine, dine, or just take in a bit of nature, White Rock is a premier destination spot for young and old alike.

   Breath taking website of unseen vigor and spirits. Beautiful photos and an enormously charming environment I can gather and can testify to the facts this is ‘Number 5 star’ rating in all categories of hospitality. I have traveled and can compare.

  If you are in White Rock and are looking for a FABULOUS place to stay this is IT! You will absolutely love it. We would give it 10 STARS!!! It is first class all the way! The beds/pillows are the best. Mary is the owner and the most gracious lovely woman. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Dancing Firs. The breakfasts are magnificent as well. • You will think you’ve died and gone to heaven!

  My husband and I stayed here for two months in 2007 while we were looking for property in the area. We have revisited many times since then. The accommodations are beyond comfortable - they are beautiful. The property sits on a very high bluff over the ocean and the views are stunning. The owner is an artist when it comes to creating an experience that is at once healing and luxurious. An amazing place - you won't want to leave.... Trishrae, St. Albert, Alberta.
